Apple regained its title as the world's most valuable brand, according to a Kantar BrandZ survey, displacing rival Amazon from the top spot for the first time in three years.

The value of the iPhone maker's brand reached $947 billion this year, while Amazon fell to third place, according to the Kantar survey released on Wednesday. The last time Apple ranked as the most valuable brand was in 2015.

Louis Vuitton, the fashion brand owned by LVMH SE, became the first luxury brand to break into the top 10 after seeing a 64% growth in value to $124.2 billion, despite the slow return of consumers after the pandemic.

Tesla jumped 18 positions to 29th place, becoming the highest-ranking car brand due to a surge in interest in electric vehicles.

Kantar's survey attempts to estimate the impact of branding on a company's market value and its ability to generate sales.

Apple garnered nearly 800 million subscribers in 2021 for services like entertainment and the cloud, and its movie "CODA" this year became the first film from a streaming service to win the Oscar for Best Picture. Still, its share price is down 25% so far in 2022.
