Ducati rules out Viñales: "We are happy with Bagnaia Miller"

When Maverick Viñales announced his departure to Yamaha at the end of this season, a year before the end of his contract, many already thought that the agreement to sign for Aprilia was done.

Instead, the days go by and at the moment there is no news about it. In Italy there has been speculation of possible interest in Viñales from Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Team – which will debut in MotoGP in 2022 – which would have finally led him to Ducati after having negotiated with them before signing his last contract with the Iwata brand. .

However, that possibility is now ruled out at Borgo Panigale , where they say they are satisfied with their current line-up, Pecco Bagnaia and Jack Miller, as well as the other drivers they already have signed for next season.

“I am sorry that Maverick made this decision, but he must have had his reasons. Right now we are very happy to have Pecco (Bagnaia) and Jack (Miller). The other Ducati riders are doing well too. We are investing in young riders, so I think and I hope we will get satisfaction from them,” Tardozzi told Sky Sport MotoGP HD during Motor Valley Fest.

When asked to get wet about the future of the rider from Roses (Girona) for the 2022 season, the former Italian rider limited himself to wishing him to make the right decision, pointing out the path of Aprilia which, barring an unforeseen turn, remains the option. most likely right now.

“I hope that Viñales continues in the championship, because he is an important rider for MotoGP and he is very fast. I also want Aprilia to have the best possible riders to be as competitive as possible,” he added.
