Ducati will be the supplier of the MotoE World Cup in 2023!

This Tuesday afternoon, the Modena builder announced that it will not renew its contract with Dorna, which expires in 2022, the date on which an alliance that will have lasted four years will definitively end.

Pending the officialization of the new supplier, everything is ready for Ducati to assume the baton and fully enter the electric motorcycle sector from 2023, when the event will enter a new episode, hand in hand with the factory from Borgo Panigale .

This outcome is especially striking if we take into account that Claudio Domenicali , CEO of Ducati, recently justified the Bolognese manufacturer's immobility in this sector, pointing directly to the performance of current batteries and, above all, to their weight.

The MotoE World Cup has been taking more flight with the passing of the editions, and after a very convulsive start, as a result of the fire that took place in Jerez , in the run-up to the first pre-season tests, in March 2019, an incident that forced the start of the course to be delayed.

In that first exercise, the champion was Matteo Ferrari , winner of two of the six races held. Just a month ago, the Spaniard Jordi Torres took the crown of this 2021 after the stewards imposed an exemplary sanction on the Swiss Dominique Aegerter , who ran over him in the last corner of the race, in a desperate maneuver.
