DWD warns of black ice: These regions in northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony are affected

The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of black ice in northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony on Sunday (December 12th, 2021). Warning level 2 currently applies.

Kassel – The German Weather Service (DWD) has published an official weather warning. The notification warns of the occurrence of black ice. As it goes on, there is currently the second of three warning levels. Accordingly, “severe disabilities in road and rail traffic” can occur. Unnecessary car journeys should be avoided.

The following regions in northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony are currently affected:

  • City and district of Kassel
  • Waldeck-Frankenberg district
  • Werra-Meißner district
  • Schwalm-Eder district
  • Northeim district

The warning applies to all regions until 11.00 a.m., but could be extended by the DWD. A meteorologist recently warned of the occurrence of black ice and black ice. (Nail Akkoyun)
