DWD warns of storms in northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony – these districts are affected

The DWD warns of gusts of wind in northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony. The warnings apply until early Monday morning.

Kassel – In northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony it will be stormy on late Sunday evening (January 2nd, 2022) and on Monday night. The German Weather Service (DWD) has published level 2 storm warnings for several districts. These currently apply until Monday morning at 6 a.m.

There can be gusts of wind at speeds of up to 70 km / h in the affected regions. These come initially from the southwest, later from the west. According to the DWD, storm gusts of 85 km / h must be expected near showers and in exposed locations.

  • Waldeck-Frankenberg district
  • Schwalm-Eder district
  • Werra-Meißner district
  • District of Hersfeld-Rotenburg
  • District of Göttingen
  • Northeim district
