Parking at Fells Point on New Years Eve or during the Fells Point Fun Festival (or really, any Friday or Saturday night) can be a challenge.

The cobbled waterfront neighborhood, founded in the 18th century, was simply not designed for automobiles. So it’s nice that most of the Fells Points bars are within walking distance of each other so you only need to park your car once.

In fact, if you plan to drink, you may want to call a Baltimore area taxi company. Or another idea is to park near the inner harbor and take the water taxi to Fells Point. Find a parking lot in Inner Harbor here.

Most homes in Fells Point and nearby neighborhoods like Upper Fells Point, Butchers Hill, Canton, and Little Italy do not have off-street parking. So heavily residential areas are not a good place to find street parking. If you park on the street, do not block alleys or driveways. Some areas, like Little Italy and Fells Point, have only two hours of non-resident parking, so read the signs carefully.

The area near Broadway Square in Fells Point has parking kiosks instead of meters. Find a parking spot and then pay for a certain amount of time (this is usually limited to two hours) at the kiosk with a credit card or coins. Then put the kiosk receipt in your front window. While this is a fairly inexpensive parking lot, the limited time and difficulty of finding a spot on the streets make it not a good option for everyone.

The best bets are parking lots in areas like Fells Point, Little Italy, and Harbor East.
