Wembley Stadium is located in the Brent district of North West London, England. The current structure was built to replace an old plant that had the same name on the same site. Opened in 2007, with a capacity of 90,000 seats , it is a world-class venue that attracts some of the biggest sporting, musical and entertainment events and more than 2 million visitors a year . The original Wembley Stadium was built to host the British Empire Exposition of 1924-25 and was completed prior to the exhibition in 1923. The construction of the new stadium was carried out by the English firm Foster + Partners and the American stadium specialists Populous. The new stadium was officially opened in March 2007.
