Fall for Fairfax Festival is Northern Virginia’s largest fall festival, featuring more than 75 interactive activities and exhibits that provide fun for the whole family. Special programs focus on education, sports and fitness, the environment, public safety, and personal health. Fall for Fairfax is sponsored by Celebrate Fairfax. Activities include a train ride, a pumpkin patch, carnival rides, hayrides, a petting zoo, a scarecrow competition, inflatables, and children’s shows. More than a dozen local performing groups will offer live musical entertainment.

There will be a wide range of food and drinks for sale.

Directions from I-66: Take Exit 55B for Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100) North. Turn right onto Fair Lakes Parkway. Turn right at the second light onto West Ox Road. Turn left at the first light onto Post Forest Drive. The Government Center is in a straight line. Free parking is available in the lots in front of the Government Center and at the parking deck located between the Pennino and Herrity buildings, across the street.

Rides and attractions for children

More than a dozen attractions are geared towards children ages 2 to 10. Individual tickets are on sale on the site for $ 1. Trips will cost between 2 and 5 tickets each. You can also purchase an “All-You-Can-Ride” Super Pass or Weekend Super Pass that allows unlimited use of all KidWay MidWay attractions and the Trackless Train Ride. These passes are cheaper if you buy them in advance online.

Healthy play area

Inova, the nonprofit health organization based in Falls Church, Virginia, sponsors a Healthy Play Zone to encourage children to learn about health. Activities will include a Future Doctor photo booth where children can try on the doctor’s coat and take a photo in the photo booth; Family Zumba, a high-energy dance party with kid-friendly routines, and a Food Group Toss, a bean bag toss that makes learning about food groups fun.
