Ned Beatty has died at the age of 83 due to natural causes , surrounded by his family and loved ones. “Ned was an iconic and legendary talent, as well as a dear friend and we will all miss him,” Miller added to the statement on the death. When reviewing his career, it is only possible to admire his career from the huge number of productions in which he participated as an actor, 166 productions , of which 83 have been on the big screen since the 70s.

Ned Beatty started acting very young. Born on July 6, 1937, he began acting before turning 20, performing in theaters in his hometown. Like any actor born behind the scenes, his foray into the cinema took some time, since he did not participate in his first feature film until he was 35 years old in Defense , an adventure thriller in which he shared a cast with the very Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds . His greatest recognition would come just a few years later, with the Oscar nomination for best supporting actor for Network, an unforgiving world . Sidney Lumet’s great masterpiece offered Beatty the role of Arthur Jensen, the despicable president of the television network who tries to convince the character of Howard Beale , that the lack of humanity derived from corporate performance is a good and inevitable thing. .

On television, the late actor received a Golden Globe nomination for the musical Someday I’ll Find You and an MTV award for his performance voicing the Toy Story 3 villain bear, Lotso. In addition to this, the Emmys also wanted to value his work with nominations for his participation in By Fire Own and Last Train Home .

Beyond the fact that most of the nominations did not obtain the final recognition that his career deserved, the gift that Ned Beatty leaves us is the number of important titles in which he participated: All the President’s Men , Superman , Superman II, The War by Charly Wilson , Rango and Restless Citizens . A tireless actor who dedicated his life to acting in every possible setting.
