The Fauquier County Fair features cattle, rabbits, poultry, produce, homemade crafts, animal shows, contests, games, demonstrations, homemade dinners, and a variety of live music. Competitions are especially popular and include the Animal Sounds Contest, ATV Rodeo, Corn Shucking Contest, Hot Dog Eating Contest, Lawn Mower Pull, Pie Eating Contest, Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, Water Zucchini Races, and much more.
Fauquier County offers a perfect setting for an old-fashioned fair. The area is known as horse and wine country in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The area offers a contrast as a natural refuge and gateway to the bustling Washington DC metropolitan area.
