Motorsport.com photographers spotted Alonso in the hospitality of his future team, Aston Martin, at the recent Japanese GP, suggesting that talks on how to approach next season had already begun.

And when asked when he will start working with them, he insists that he will stick to his contract with Alpine (which is currently opposed to releasing him before the end of the year): “January 1.”
Alonso and Alpine arrive at the Circuit of the Americas after a date in Japan where there were disagreements between the driver and the team about the strategy to follow with the tires in the complicated conditions left by the rain.
