Ferrari reveals the name of Sainz and Leclerc's car in F1 2022

Scuderia Ferrari has revealed through its official channels the name of its new car for the 2022 Formula 1 season, a course that will kick off a new era in the highest category of motorsport for which the Maranello team He has high expectations.

Finally, the single-seater that will compete this year bathed in red and that will be driven by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, will run under the name of F1-75 .

With the number 75, Ferrari honors the anniversary that the company will celebrate throughout this season, since looking back, it was on March 12, 1947 when Enzo Ferrari , founder of the team, started the engine of the 125 S by first time in Maranello.

 

This was announced by the president of the brand, John Elkann : “Formula 1, with its spirit of competition and innovation, has always been a fundamental part of Ferrari, driving the technological development of our road cars. This year, as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the creation of our first in-house production car, we honor that spirit by naming our 2022 F1 car ‘Ferrari F1-75’.”

Said single-seater will be presented next Thursday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. in Spain. This will be the first time that the new car with ground effect and adapted to the new Formula 1 regulations for 2022 is shown publicly, although not yet on the track.

In fact, the new Ferrari F1-75 will not set foot on the asphalt until Tuesday, February 22, just one day before the start of the preseason at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, since the Maranello team reserved an exclusive day there to take out a filming day .

Although most details of the single-seater are still unknown, Mattia Binotto , the director of Scuderia Ferrari, acknowledged at the end of last year that his new car for the next F1 2022 season will be innovative, both at the engine and the level of chassis.
