FIA refuses to clean track ahead of Miami F1 race

As some Formula 1 drivers have recognized, this morning they would have sent an official request to the International Automobile Federation ( FIA ) to carry out a specific cleaning in the first corner of the track before the traffic lights go out in the Great Miami Award, with the aim of reducing the risk of seeing accidents at the start.

Throughout the weekend, the drivers have been critical of the track and especially the tarmac, which seems to be degrading at a much faster rate than usual and only allows for one racing line.

Due to that concern after seeing all the accidents and loss of control that many drivers had during the three free practice sessions, they met after the qualifying session on Saturday in search of a positive solution for them.

After this conversation, the pilots reached a conclusion and sent a request to those responsible for their safety on the track, the FIA, in which they asked for a specific cleaning of the first corner of the circuit to avoid errors that cause multiple accidents at the start. .

However, and after evaluating the request, the FIA is not planning any type of additional or special cleaning of the track because, as they have recalled, the entire track is always swept before each session, so they will not emphasize any specific area.

Throughout the weekend, it has been made clear that the new Miami circuit only has one valid line, as driving outside of it can even be dangerous for the drivers, as there is clearly a drastic change between the clean zone and the dirty area, even conveying the feeling of going from dry to wet asphalt, despite not being so.

Another of the key points in this sense will be the exit from the pits, which culminates in turn 2 and could become a decisive area of the race, since the drivers who leave the pitlane with colder tires will be on a race line with very little grip and possibly wheel to wheel with other cars they are competing with for position.
