After the winter break, test riders, rookies and teams with concessions have returned to the track to raise the curtain on the 2022 season during the MotoGP shakedown .

Raúl Fernández was the fastest on this first day of testing at Sepang, ahead of a swift Michele Pirro thoroughly testing his Ducati. Behind the Italian, the best record was in the hands of Mika Kallio on behalf of KTM. Dani Pedrosa has also been seen collaborating with the Austrian team in this shakedown.

For his part, Aprilia’s ‘ace’, Lorenzo Savadori, concluded on Monday as the fourth best time of the day. Savadori was followed by Remy Gardner, becoming, along with his Tech3 teammate, the fastest rookies of the day.

Behind the Australian we find the rookie of the Mooney VR46 Team. Marco Bezzecchi , along with his 2021 Ducati, completed a total of 38 laps. This rookie was followed by Moto3 newcomer Darryn Binder . The South African finished seventh after riding 51 laps on his WithU RNF Team Yamaha.

Sylvain Guintoli followed Brad Binder’s brother on the time list, with Suzuki running as the most consistent on Monday at Sepang. Fabio Di Giannantonio has been the last rookie to close the record sheet of a shakedown starring the emotion and uncertainty of the newcomers to the premier class.

The activity will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, February 1, from 03:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Spanish time). As we previously mentioned, these tests will not be broadcast live, but you will be able to follow the results through our website and the official platform of the championship.

The remaining riders from the premier class will get on the prototypes during the official pre-season tests, scheduled for next Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th February, again on the Malaysian circuit.
