Berlin – For the first time in the more than 20-year history of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”, The prize was three million euros on Thursday evening.
The exciting guessing game ran with a short interruption on “RTL direkt” from 8:15 pm to midnight and reached a good average of 4.92 million viewers, which corresponded to a market share of 19.2 percent for the long evening. Even if nobody won the three million, there were all kinds of gamblers and exciting situations.
The most successful show at 8.15 p.m. was again a thriller: The ARD film “Nord bei Nordwest: The Andy from next door” reached a sensational 8.12 million (26.0 percent), the ZDF series “Die Bergretter” got 4 , 74 million (15.2 percent).
“The Masked Dancer” in fourth place
The start of the new ProSieben show “The Masked Dancer” had 1.75 million viewers (6.1 percent). In the show, in which celebrities dance and hide under lavish disguise, Ute Lemper was the first to flee. She was dressed in a dazzling glow-worm costume. “The Masked Dancer” is an offshoot of the successful ProSieben show “The Masked Singer”. In the original, celebrities sing in opulent costumes and use their voices to give hints as to who might be under the mask. The spin-off is now dancing. After the opening sequence on Thursday, three more shows are to follow. Six celebrities are still in the running.
Behind it were Vox and the fantasy film “The Hobbit – Smaug’s Desolation” (1.04 million / 4.1 percent), Kabel eins and the new documentary soap “Rosins Heldenküche – Last Chance Traumjob” (0.58 million / 1.9 percent) , the magazine “Jetzt. Better. Life. With Sat.1 “(0.53 million / 1.7 percent) as well as RTLzwei and the documentary soap“ Animal Heroes – My partner on 4 paws ”(0.43 million / 1.4 percent).
