Max Verstappen has extended his advantage over Lewis Hamilton in the fight for the Formula 1 World Championship thanks to his victory in the United States GP . The Briton, who was second, added the extra point awarded by the fastest lap. Together with them Sergio Pérez has been on the podium.
Carlos Sainz gave up sixth position on the last lap against Valtteri Bottas while his teammate, Charles Leclerc , was fourth ahead of Daniel Ricciardo . Lando Norris , Yuki Tsunoda and Sebastian Vettel have closed the point zone. Fernando Alonso , who came out nineteenth after the German, has been forced to leave Austin.
