Formula 1 has announced this Tuesday, September 20, 2022, a new agreement with the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) so that the highest category continues to compete on the famous streets of Monte Carlo until at least 2025, that is, an extension of three seasons. .

The Monaco Grand Prix has been an important part of the championship since its inception, as it has been part of the calendar since 1950 and also provides a unique and different challenge for the drivers, as well as being one of the most recognized events in the world at a sporting level.

After several months of many doubts and statements that hinted at a more than possible farewell to the Monegasque event, both parties have reached an agreement that ensures the continuity of Monaco on the F1 calendar until, at least, before the arrival of the new cycle of power unit rules in 2026.

Although details of the terms of the agreement have not been published, it is very likely that the new contract was signed with terms much more beneficial for F1, since in recent months they had made it clear that they would have no problem saying goodbye. to the Monaco GP if certain concessions were not made.

The president and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali , was delighted to have been able to reach a new agreement with the Principality of Monaco: “I am pleased to confirm that we will compete in Monaco until 2025 and I am excited to be able to return to the streets of this famous Principality next year, on May 28”.

“I want to thank everyone involved in this renewal and especially HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, as well as Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club de Monaco and his entire team. We look forward to returning next season to continue our partnership.”

Michel Boeri , President of the Automobile Club de Monaco, added: “In the interest of the F1 championship, and after several months of negotiations, we are proud to announce that we have signed a new 3-year agreement with Formula 1, which is likely to be renewed. The Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in 2023 will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023.”

The FIA has also confirmed the full schedule for next season at the Grand Circus, which will feature a record-breaking 24-race run, starting in Bahrain on March 5, 2023 and closing the curtain again in Abu Dhabi on the day November 26, 2023.
