The French company Vinci Airports acquired 29.9% of the outstanding shares of Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), one of the main operators in the country, according to sources close to the negotiation.

With this move, Vinci becomes one of the main shareholders of the company currently run by Ricardo Dueñas.

The movement, according to the sources, will be officially announced first in France, during the early hours of Mexico.

Vinci made the purchase of its shares in two parts: one from Servicios de Tecnología Aeroportuaria (SETA) and the other from Aerodrome Infrastructure.

The agreed purchase price for the SETA shares was around 578.7 million dollars.

In the case of Aerodrome, the purchase price, net of debt, including intercompany debt payable by the company as of July 31, 2022, is about $236.7 million.

The transaction, according to the sources, is subject to the approval of the competition authorities.

OMA operates and manages 13 airports in the country, with a passenger flow of more than 23 million, and is listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).
