The creator of Valve , Steam and the string of games that are closely tied to both names, Gabe Newell , has come out in defense of his fellow CD Projekt for the criticism garnered by Cyberpunk 2077 at its launch.
“All I know is that there are a lot of very happy PC gamers, and those are the most visible to us.”
For Newell this is all a matter of empathy with other developers. Recognize that part of the fun of this industry is to please the public and that expectations are always high. Despite this, he believes that they will move it forward.
“There are aspects of the game that are just brilliant and it shows a lot of work. It’s unfair to throw rocks at another developer because getting something so complex and ambitious is quite impressive.
They have a long history of doing great work and investing in their own products over time, and I think they are going to be very good at keeping their customers happy. “
He has done so in an interview in which, as usual, he has dodged any other question related to what will remain a mystery for a long time: the continuation of Portal and Half-Life. While recognizing that there are Valve games underway, he prefers not to talk more about the account.
