The Arizona State Fair is always looking to large numbers of people to help create a fun and safe environment for all who attend. The fair is held every October and people are needed to work during the three-week event, and sometimes for a period of time before and after.

Festival / Event Management Intern

For the 2016 Arizona State Fair, internships may be offered to assist in the planning and execution of the Arizona State Fair. These are unpaid internships that will provide candidates with valuable work experience and training in their respective fields (possible college / university credit available). These positions will give interns the opportunity to gain experience in a number of event management areas including Marketing, Sponsorship / Vendors, Talent Booking, Sales, Accounting, Customer Services, and Operations.

Arizona State Fair interns must exhibit a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, display professional demeanor, and have the ability to multitask. Interested applicants should send a cover letter, resume and availability to: [email protected]

Paid positions

The Arizona State Fair hires for seasonal positions: customer service representatives, parking attendants, workers, custodians, ticket takers, ticket sellers, and entrance clerks. Additional specialized positions may be available as required. Ticket Seller positions must have verifiable and recent money handling experience. You must be 16 years or older to work as a parking attendant; all other positions require you to be 18 years of age or older.

You must have reliable transportation to work at the Fair. The Arizona State Fair takes place in downtown / downtown Phoenix. Here’s a map of the Arizona State Fairgrounds so you can know where you’ll go if you get the job. Free parking is provided for those who are hired. Employee parking is located at 19th Avenue & Encanto. If you are not driving, the fairgrounds can be accessed by public transport. The closest Valley Metro Rail station is at Central Avenue and McDowell. That station is just over 1.5 miles from the fairgrounds.

If you are walking, it should take about half an hour if you walk briskly.

The Human Resources Department generally begins accepting job applications in mid to late August and they receive many applications. It would be wise to apply as soon as possible because jobs fill up quickly. Applicants must apply in person at the State Fairgrounds at the Colosseum (enter the lower level on the west side) Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. M. At 5 p. M.
