Born in Berlin by choice, the Danish native has a weakness for Swedish folk songs, which she believes are both weird and elegant. But her heart also beats for jazz.

Copenhagen / Berlin – The musician Gitte Hænning (“I want a cowboy as a man”) is a great friend of Swedish. “I love the Swedish language,” said the Berlin-based Danish woman to the German press agency.

The Swedes have the most beautiful folk songs that exist and that are both weird and elegant.

Gitte Hænning once celebrated her breakthrough in Germany as a pop singer. Since then she has developed into a versatile artist who now mainly makes pop and jazz music. “I have to do what I love, otherwise I can't do it. And I love jazz! ”She said.

She regards her work in music as a gift. “Working is something beautiful! I also think it's healthy, ”she said. Quitting is therefore still a long way off. She will be 75 years old next Tuesday. dpa
