In Prince Harry’s documentary series, actress Glenn Close told about trauma from her childhood. The current corona crisis has also affected her.

Los Angeles (AP) – US actress Glenn Close (74) has reported about her youth in a sect. Her family introduced her to a group called MRA (Moral Re-Armament) when she was seven years old.

The sect had exercised a strong control, said Close in the continuation of the documentary series “The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward” by the US presenter Oprah Winfrey, 67, and Prince Harry, 36. At the age of 22, she managed to leave the sect.

The sect era had serious consequences for her family: “It was terrible,” she said. “We were so broken.” It is astonishing that something that you went through as a young person can still have so much destructive power later on. Close also blamed her childhood experiences for their three divorces. “I have not been successful in my relationships and in finding a constant partner and I am sorry.”

The sequel to the series, which was released on Friday night, is all about mental health. The first part was released on May 21st on Apple’s streaming service.

She compared the effects of the corona pandemic with those of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. “We have unbelievable, unprecedented times behind us,” said Close. “In my opinion it means as big a change for the world as September 11th.” The world is changing: “It will take a while before we can formulate what that means for as individuals.”

The actress (“The Nobel Laureate’s Wife”) said the corona pandemic had also directly affected her mental health. “It helped that I had a dog.”
