Grand Duchess Maria Teresa: Touched by the fate of these young people

0

You rarely see Grand Duchess Maria Teresa so emotionally. The Luxembourg mother met two young women with a poignant fate.

Luxembourg – Salwa Saedo and Hala Safil traveled to Luxembourg on an important mission. You survived the genocide of the Yazidis by the Islamic State (IS), which began in Iraq in August 2014, and now want to draw attention to the consequences of these terrible atrocities.

In order to raise public awareness of the genocide crime that claimed thousands of lives and resulted in the kidnapping of numerous Yazidis, the two women sought a conversation with Grand Duchess Maria Teresa – an encounter that visibly affected everyone present.
You can read Salwa Saedo’s moving words about her visit to Luxembourg at 24royal.de *.

During the meeting, the 65-year-old not only discussed the struggle for international recognition as genocide with her visitors, the wife of Grand Duke Henri (66) also used a virtual reality film to deal with the fate of the survivors and the effects of the Yazidis persecution. The film is part of the immersive art exhibition “Nobody’s Listening”, which takes up the stories of the victims and gives them a voice. The director of the exhibition, a coordinator of the “Yazidi Survivor Network” and the president of the Yazidis aid organization “Yazda” accompanied the two activists to their meeting with Maria Teresa. * 24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
