Technical problems force a gyroplane in Brandenburg to make an emergency landing on the autobahn. But it goes wrong.

Michendorf – After technical problems shortly after take-off, a gyroplane crashed at the Nuthetal motorway triangle near Michendorf south of Potsdam.

According to police, the two inmates were injured in the planned emergency landing. They had to be taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment.

The open aircraft with two seats in a row took off from the small Saarmund airfield, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the motorway. The rotors of gyroplanes have no engine. They carry the propeller-driven aircraft through the airstream.

According to the police, technical problems were found after the start. The gyroplane tried to make an emergency landing on a tangent to the motorway triangle and crashed in the process. Road vehicles were not involved in the accident, but a traffic jam formed as a result. The Nuthetal triangle connects the A115 motorway to Berlin with the A10, the motorway ring around the federal capital. dpa
