Honda starts the MotoGP season with Bradl in Jerez

The Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit welcomed various WSBK riders this week. However, they were not the only ones to go out and test the Andalusian track. The test day on the Spanish track has also reignited the MotoGP engines, and Honda has taken advantage of it to become the first team to get to work in 2022 with its test rider.

After two irregular years for the golden wing, the Japanese manufacturer has thoroughly analyzed the RC213V and wants to be sure to arrive at the pre-season tests with everything ready. Although Stefan Bradl will attend the MotoGP shakedown , the team has preferred to start a few days earlier.

In this way, the German rider took advantage of the Superbike tests to go out with the new RC213V, in search of sensations, information and interesting stimuli to comment on to engineers and members of the Asakama team in search of a competitive prototype in MotoGP during 2022.

The goal, without a doubt, is for everything to be ready when it is the turn of the two regular riders, Marc Márquez and Pol Espargaró, who will ride their bikes on February 5, again on the Malaysian track.

After breathing a sigh of relief at the return of Marc Márquez and his consequent assistance in Sepang, Honda wants to have everything ready for the start of the season. To do this, he has used the feedback from his test driver to embark on the path to the fight for the title that was not possible in 2021.

During this test day it was also possible to see the former drivers of the championship, Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge. Both are in the ranks of the Japanese manufacturer inside the WSBK, and concluded the first and only day of testing with good feelings and encouraging records for the structure of the gold wing.
