The explosion of a semi-detached house in Upper Bavaria is still a mystery. One thing is certain: the dead person in the house is the missing resident. However, there are still many unanswered questions.

Rohrbach an der Ilm – The DNA comparison to identify a male corpse in connection with the devastating house explosion in Upper Bavaria is expected to take some time. It will take a few days before the result is available, said a police spokesman on Sunday.

The man was burned beyond recognition in a car accident so that he could not be identified during the autopsy.

The car was registered to the address of a semi-detached house in Rohrbach an der Ilm (Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district), which collapsed after an explosion on Thursday. In the rubble, investigators discovered a woman’s body who was later identified as the 54-year-old resident. Her 55-year-old husband has been missing since the explosion.

Shortly after the explosion, the car crashed head-on into an oncoming truck and went up in flames. Also around noon on Thursday, a fire broke out in an empty apartment owned by the couple in Lugau, Saxony. The police in Chemnitz assume arson. A spokeswoman did not provide any further information on request about the case. dpa
