After the fatal accident at a music festival in Houston, two victims are still in critical condition. Among the two seriously injured is a nine-year-old. The investigation continues.

Houston – Five days after the festival disaster in Houston, Texas, with eight dead and many injured, two hospital victims are still in critical condition. Police chief Troy Finner announced this on Wednesday.

Among the seriously injured is a nine-year-old boy, as US media reported. According to the police, the investigation could take months. Among other things, they would interview eyewitnesses and evaluate video clips.

Allegations against organizers and artists

Around 50,000 people had visited the Astroworld Festival Friday night (local time) when people were pressed to death in a tightly packed audience during a performance by rapper Travis Scott. Two teenagers were among the dead. Scott and the organizers are accused, among other things, that there were insufficient security measures and that the concert was canceled too late.

Finner corrected an earlier police statement on Wednesday about an alleged incident that a security guard passed out in the crowd after being stabbed in the neck. It would now have turned out that the policeman had lost consciousness after being hit on the head. According to TMZ.com, there were eyewitness reports that someone in the crowd injected a drug into people.

Meanwhile, US rapper Travis Scott and the organizers are facing a wave of lawsuits. Injured concert goers and relatives of the victims have filed dozens of lawsuits, US media reported. dpa
