How does living in a pet store influence the puppy?

0

Let’s imagine that the breeder has complied with all the necessary guidelines for a puppy to have an optimal development of its behavior and a bomb-proof health and let’s suppose that it is already the perfect age to join its new family …

What does he look like in a cage waiting for the family he is going to live with all his life? Who are you socializing with? With the store owner? With the one who cleans the cage? With the families that visit the center?

Not to mention the time that will pass only from closing time until the store opens the next day. He only lives with his dolls and his feeder and, if you hurry me, with the puppies that he can see in other cages.

Forgive my “heartburn” but personally I think that many stores do a disservice to the normal development of puppies. Many should not have animals for sale.

Wouldn’t it be better if they offered the excellent specimens that have qualified breeders? Wouldn’t it be better if they didn’t sell animals imported from countries where the health status of human beings cannot be assured? Those should be saved and put up for adoption. Too many times, neither the store workers nor the owner know what they are selling to us.

Living in a store will acquire bad behaviors

A puppy that spends days, weeks, or months in the cages of one or several stores, is acquiring all the tickets for the great raffle of a wonderful behavior problem. As a complementary gift, the animal can also suffer from some other respiratory or digestive pathology, frequent options in puppies that spend too much time in these conditions.

I suppose that many will be against what I have just exposed. Surely more than one will want to report me, at least. Especially if you are the owner of a store that “dispatches” living beings.

I’m sorry, but I don’t like to lie or omit the truth, just as I don’t like to see the faces of entire and desperate families before a wonderful dog in the cage and troubled at home.

What are there exceptional stores? Yes, although in addition to being exceptional they are rare exceptions.

From my very humble point of view, a store should only act as an intermediary in the sale of an animal from an excellent breeder, a professional who ensures the health and behavior of their litters. This brokerage work would, of course, add a logical and well-deserved commercial percentage. If store owners were to do the math, they would realize that this procedure is profitable, and more importantly, they would be delivering a perfectly good animal to their customers. By the way, this idea is not mine, this idea is successfully applied in countries “a little” more advanced in the love and care of domestic animals.
