How old do you have to be to stay in a London hotel on your own?

Question: How old do you have to be to stay in a London hotel on your own?

I am traveling to London with friends this summer. Some of us will be 18, but some will still be 17. Can we book hotels in London at our age?

Answer: I just checked with some London hotels and they are fine with 18 year olds checking in as 18 means you are an adult in the UK.

If you are traveling with younger friends, the older members of the group (over 18 years old) must reserve the hotel rooms. Some hotels suggested that the youngest members of the group should share with an 18-year-old. (Of course, they won't know which room you are staying in!)

Since 18 means you are an adult in the UK, you can also drink in pubs and clubs. 17-year-olds may have some trouble getting into clubs, so check before queuing. Have a good trip!

When looking for a great price for a London hotel, I can highly recommend the Hotwire Secret Hot Rate deals I've tried and got an amazing bargain.
