José Manuel González speaks to us from one of the densest points of traffic in Madrid, the Puerta de Alcalá. “For those who are trying to buy a car in Madrid, this challenge of the traffic of such an emblematic place that you will have to pass through, will probably make you lose minutes or hours of sleep” and Internet browsing.

“I don’t want to give you the solution, I’m not here to tell you what car you have to buy, the important thing is to know what car do I need?” We are currently living in a time where the offer of this market has never been so complete. The most important thing is to know what we need and which vehicle is the right one for us.

So there are currently no bad options, including diesel. If we buy a latest generation model of 2019, all of them, any model and option will be within the legislation, so they respect the environment.

Market options

Would you buy me a diesel? “Yes, if I had to do many kilometers daily. I’m talking about 100-200 kilometers a day, for example. It is not an urban circulation, of course. In this case, the ideal option would be a car with a diesel engine ”, explains the engine expert.

What about gasoline? Thanks to technology, we currently have very powerful engines for very low consumption. For short trips, we can perfectly opt for a gasoline engine.

González also tells us about mixed engines: A mixed gasoline-natural gas engine is capable of taking you for more than 1,000 kilometers without refueling.

Regarding the hybrid-electric world , we need more technical information so as not to make mistakes in our choice. “We have to be clear that if a car is going to cover a lot of kilometers on the road, a hybrid car cannot be a good option.” However, if we are going to do normal driving, where we go on vacation from time to time, where we go shopping, it may be a good option ”, clarifies González. The important thing is to know how to drive this type of vehicle to get the most out of it.

“Think about what your life needs, the emotional part is very important when buying a car”, concludes the expert.
