Incidence increases for the fifth day in a row

The corona numbers in Germany continue to rise – the RKI reports 745 new infections and a seven-day incidence of 6.0.

Berlin – For the first time in around two weeks, the seven-day incidence in Germany climbed back above 6.0. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) from Sunday morning, the value was 6.2 new infections in seven days per 100,000 inhabitants (previous day: 5.8; previous week: 5.0).

The health authorities in Germany reported 745 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. For comparison: a week ago the value was 559 infections.

Six deaths

According to the new information, six deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were seven dead. The RKI has counted 3,736,165 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 3,634,400. The number of people who died with or with a proven Sars-CoV-2 infection rose to 91,231. dpa
