Friday’s frenetic day at the 2022 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix has already left us with incredible images of the cars and drivers on the tarmac.
An Albert Park circuit that has been renovated to offer a greater spectacle in terms of speed and overtaking, and that has been a challenge for a grid that, in addition, had not set foot on the Australian track for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thus, in the images you will see some excursions off the track, a lot of gravel both in the loopholes and on the asphalt when the cars rejoin, and the occasional tire blockage.

Also among the images of this first day of the third appointment of the course is that of Sebastian Vettel, with a Mercedes engine failure in FP1 that forced him to take the fire extinguisher and after which he later toured the track on a scooter with the helmet half removed, which meant a wake-up call from the stewards.
In fact, the German was not part of FP2 while his Aston Martin team replaced his power unit after the problem suffered in the morning in Melbourne.
It was a very complicated session, with a lot of traffic and numerous investigations into drivers for hindering their rivals during the fast laps. In addition, the teams experimented with the four DRS zones that F1 has decided to establish for this weekend, a record in the category.
And after the two red flags in FP1, there was another in FP2 caused by a piece that stayed on the track after Lance Stroll aggressively passed a kerbing.
The Ferraris showed their muscle leading with a brace led by Sainz in the first session, and Charles Leclerc redeemed himself in the second ahead of Max Verstappen and Sainz himself.
