Infonavit and the Ministry of Economy signed an information exchange agreement this Wednesday so that the Infonavit Information System (SII) is incorporated into the DataMéxico platform.

The purpose of the agreement is to implement mechanisms for the exchange of financial, credit and housing information, foreign trade and the labor market.

“In this exchange we will be able to add important things that normally, those who want to set up a company want to make decisions about where it is convenient for me to buy and are going to justify (their plans) based on the information they have,” the head of Economy said at a press conference. , Tatiana Clouthier.

“In the SE when we started this effort (DataMéxico), what most interested us was that potential investors had access to quality information that allows them to make decisions in a much more informed way,” said Sergio Silva, head of the global economic intelligence unit of the Ministry of Economy.

DataMéxico will include information related to the placement of mortgage loans, as well as the income level of the workers, the federal entity, contributing companies and amounts, explained Óscar Vela Treviño, Infonavit’s deputy director of financial planning.

As of the second semester of the year, the Infonavit Information System will include information on risk management, as well as indicators of the quality of housing index and tax collection; as well as information on the composition of the institute’s investment portfolio.

By having more information, it will be possible to make decisions with an urban vision around large investments, assured Carlos Martínez, general director of Infonavit.

“What we want is that the learning that we have between the institutions, we can improve investments. When large investments are attracted to Mexico, also think about the territory, to install a factory you need to have a territorial impact ”, he added.

The lack of urban vision in the projects causes, among other things, long journeys for workers and, eventually, losses for companies, said Carlos Martínez.

In addition, the lack of urban vision in the developments leads to problems such as the abandonment of housing, a problem that the institute began to address in mid-2019. At that time, 650,000 homes were detected abandoned due to lack of services, transportation infrastructure.
