Interjet is a low-cost Mexican airline based in Lomas de Chapultepec, Miguel Hidalgo, in Mexico City. It operates from the Mexico City airport and from the Toluca airport (airport code TLC). The airline began operating on December 1, 2005. Some of Interjet’s special offers include designated bathrooms for women only on its aircraft, and the live presentation of takeoff and landing on screen in the passenger cabin. They also offer a generous baggage allowance compared to many other airlines.

However, please note that debit cards are not accepted. Interjet fares are based on one-way trips, so there is no price advantage when purchasing a round-trip ticket.

Baggage allowance:

In checked baggage , Interjet allows one checked bag per passenger on domestic flights and two checked bags for international flights. The bags can weigh up to 25 kg (55 pounds) each. There is a charge of $ 5 USD per kilogram for excess weight, but Interjet may refuse to carry any bag that weighs more than 30 kg (60 pounds).

Both models have been adapted for greater comfort and space. The Airbus A320 passenger cabins contain 150 seats, with a generous 34-inch space between seats, which is similar to what other airlines offer in their first or business class cabins. The Superjet 100s, which normally seat 103 passengers, are adapted with 93-passenger seating, which also allows a bit more legroom.

Frequent travelers:

Interjet has a frequent flyer program called Club Interjet in which it rewards its members with cash instead of miles or kilometers. Members get a credit of 10% of the cost of the airfare in an electronic wallet that can be used to buy more tickets or pay for services.
