This day is celebrated as Hispanic Day and originated when, on August 3, 1492 , Christopher Columbus left Huelva to go on a trip. On October 12, 1492, the boats reached the island of Guanahaní, in the Antilles. It was then San Salvador, also reaching Cuba and Santo Domingo.
We are talking about the discovery of America. This day symbolizes the union of Europe and America , however, at that time, Columbus believed he had reached the Indies and not America.
In general, this celebration includes each year a military parade attended by the royal family, the President of the Government and representatives of all the powers of the State.
