Scientists seem to agree that this color is not part of the region of the electromagnetic spectrum. In other words, no natural or artificial object in the world, not even the flamingos that breed every year in the Doñana marshes, "emits pink light." When our brain perceives this hue, what it actually detects is the combination of two colors, red and violet, which are located at opposite ends of the rainbow.
However, denying its existence does not seem entirely correct either. Jill Morton, a professor at the University of Hawaii, says that although pink is not a part of the spectrum of light, it does exist as the sum of other colors.
