Carlos Añaños, retired president of the Aje Group of Peru, producer of drinks such as Big Cola, is the guest of one more episode of the podcat “Aprender de los Líderes”

“Innovation is born in the moments that can cause us the most pain,” says Peruvian businessman Carlos Añaños, recalling the difficult moments of his childhood in the countryside, when he had to leave the farm that his parents cultivated due to the violence of the Shining Path and stay with your whole family in a small apartment in Lima.

This is how his captivating talk with Ricardo De La Blanca begins in one more episode of “Aprender de los Líderes”, the business podcast created to inspire the stories with ups and downs of entrepreneurs from around the world during this difficult time of the pandemic.

“As a child I slept in the trees taking care of my father’s crops,” says Añaños while emphasizing the teaching of sacrifice and responsibility that his parents instilled in him. When his father and brother began the dream of drinks in Lima, he says that he began as a worker. “I delivered the drinks at 4 in the morning. My father used to tell me ‘if you want to transform the world, you have to start by making an effort,’ “he says.

And so, to get to the presidency of the group, he went through many links in the chain knowing the business in depth. “I came to take my first vacations when I was 10 years old,” he says.

On the creation of a company, it releases maxims and advice. “You can’t create a business if you don’t dream about it, if you don’t believe it yourself,” he observes. And then he says, “” The entrepreneur shoots, shoots, and then takes aim. Sometimes it is better not to do paralysis for so much analysis ”.

“The great brake we have in life is the fear of failure,” he says. And for this reason, he recommends thinking of yourself first. “The first thing to cultivate is the brain. If you are good with yourself, there is fertile land to sow any seed, ”he says.
