IU-A condemns the request for "freedom" for students when "many families cannot afford a hotel"

Toni Valero, leader of the United Left (IU) in Andalusia , on Wednesday condemned the request for “freedom” for “a quarantine in a 4-star hotel paid for by the public.”

“Millions of families cannot afford a week in a hotel. Thousands of families have buried deceased with covid. Thousands of workers and companies depend on the summer season, ” Valero pointed out on social media.

It should be remembered that this same Wednesday the Contentious-Administrative Court number 3 of Palma has overturned the forced confinement to which the Government of Francina Armengol is subjecting some 200 students affected by the macro outbreak that arose from different end-of-year trips to Mallorca . The Prosecutor’s Office , remember, has already shown its rejection of this decision.

In this way, the Government of Armengol will only be able to confine students who have tested positive for Covid-19 coronavirus. According to this resolution, those young people who have tested negative or who have not even undergone the Covid test cannot be confined.

On the other hand, the judge has required the Balearic Government to inform the court every five days of the evolution in the situation of each of the infected young people, in order to review their condition and the need, where appropriate, for their maintenance .

United we can

In another vein, the general coordinator of IU Andalucía and spokesperson for United We Can for Andalusia, Toni Valero , stressed this Tuesday that “United We can have the strength and roots to raise a solvent, effective and hopeful electoral battle.”

Valero, at a press conference in Malaga, assured that “this space can gather a constellation in which, without a doubt, Andalusian spaces , also feel represented and involved.”

In fact, he said, they are also in Unidos Podemos «sectors that we can call Andalusian sectors» , insisting that «from there, the line followed by Anticapitalistas is a legitimate line but that undoubtedly separates them from the spaces common ‘.

“The decision they made is legitimate but it takes them away from broad, unified spaces of social majorities in Andalusia, as United We can represent for Andalusia”. Similarly, he has said that he is open “to all possible options” but “what comes out of that space is not hopeful”, alluding to Teresa Rodríguez’s new project.
