Joan Mir was thrown over his motorcycle as soon as the MotoGP race of the Austrian Grand Prix started, on August 21. The injury prevented the 2020 world champion from taking part in the San Marino Grand Prix , and the subsequent official tests held in Misano last week.

During his absence, Suzuki replaced Mir with the Japanese Kazuki Watanabe , who took part in the Misano race. The Mallorcan’s bike was also used, in the test as a prize, by the 2022 MotoE champion Dominique Aegerter .

Although Mir’s recovery continues, the rider will travel this week to Teruel to try to take part in the Aragon Grand Prix this weekend. Pending official confirmation from the rider and the Suzuki team, the plan is for Mir to pass the mandatory medical on Thursday, be cleared to race and hit the track in FP1 on Friday morning to assess his condition. of the right ankle.
