Jorge Martín experienced an unfortunate crash during the last French Grand Prix, an event that greatly frustrated the man from Madrid -physically and mentally-. The incident recorded this weekend did not help the Ducati rider at all, who has been suffering from an injury since Portimao 2021, an appointment after which he was forced to be out for several weeks due to a fracture of up to seven bones.
This drop adds to the disappointing record of the Pramac driver, with four retirements and five accumulated zeros in the seven races held so far.
“We have to try to find a solution to this problem that I had last year. I caused osteoarthritis in my neck that we solved then, but now it’s back,” Jorge Martín introduced. “I managed to fix it, so I hope to fix it again because it is clear that drivers without sensitivity are nothing.”
Given this situation, the podium in Argentina is the only thing the Pramac rider can hold on to. However, this is not enough for Jorge Martín, who has a 15th place in the general classification of the championship.
“The weekend was going well, the pace was good, I felt good, one of the strongest this weekend, but that’s it, let’s think about the next one”.
The promotion to the official team could be affected by the start of the Madrilenian, a seat that is currently disputed between Jack Miller and Enea Bastianini.
“It is clear that Enea [Bastianini] is very strong [this year], also Jack Miller is at a great level”, evaluated the Madrid native.
“It’s a shame because everything is happening together, it’s a shame for the team, it’s a shame because Ducati also has a lot of confidence in me and it’s clear that it’s not being like any of us expected, but hey, I’m calm because the speed is there”.
“I am upset by the result of these races, but I hope to find a solution and better times will come,” concluded the driver from San Sebastián de los Reyes to the DAZN microphones.
