Juan Aguirre Abdo resigned from the general management of Grupo Radio Centro, a position he had reached in June 2019. The company’s board of directors, in which Aguirre remains a member, appointed Jacinto Marina Cortés in his place .

“Jacinto Marina assumes the direction of Radio Centro to continue and strengthen the processes of institutionalization, transformation and modernization that Juan Aguirre began, which will lead the Group to achieve structural, organizational and financial improvements to guarantee the success and strength of the company towards the future. future,” the company reported in a statement sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange.

Marina joined Radio Centro in January 2020 as deputy general manager, “at a difficult time for the Group and her talent has been key in the restructuring of the Company”.

Aguirre Abdo began a process of restructuring the broadcasting company aimed at improving its debt profile and optimizing its income. Since his arrival at the general management, he first opted to focus his operation on the FM stations in Mexico City, such as Alfa, La Z, Universal 88.1, Joya and La Octava. In March of this year, it also rolled out a business model to franchise its AM stations and, in July, launched its Audio Centro podcast division.

The company reported, during the first nine months of last year, a net loss of 779.3 million pesos compared to a net profit of 89.3 million in the same period of 2020. The result was associated with the sale of stations, as well as the divestment of non-strategic assets and for the fulfillment of financial commitments contracted with third companies. The company has not yet reported full-year results for 2021.
