This season marks the 37th iteration of this timeless Charles Dickens Christmas Carol and is filled with huge musical numbers, elaborate costumes, and stunning sets. This magical and exciting ride is sure to put you and your kids in the mood for the holiday season, but tickets sell out quickly, especially around the Christmas holidays, so make your reservations early.

“The Nutcracker” at the Muriel Kauffman Theater

This year, the Kansas City Ballet returns with “The Nutcracker,” straight from its premiere at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The timeless tale by ETA Hoffman and annotated by Tchaikovsky is sure to delight audiences of all ages, especially children. You see the shiny costumes flutter across the stage

The show lasts a little over two hours with a 20 minute intermission, so even the youngest children should be able to have a smooth time, and if you arrive more than an hour before the show and you can also get your picture taken with one of the stars of the show, perfect for that last minute Christmas card!

“Great Russian Nutcracker” at the Arvest Bank Theater

Just for one day, enjoy this dynamic international tour as you tour Kansas City and grace the stage at the Arvest Bank Theater. On the 25th annual tour of the Moscow Ballet, this production of “The Great Russian Nutcracker” features handcrafted costumes, huge puppets, Russian dolls and some of the best talents in Russian dance.
