The Toxic Avenger was a 1984 superhero film that eventually acquired the status that many moviegoers refer to as a cult film. The director of I no longer feel comfortable in this world , Macon Blair will be in charge of retelling the birth of the wrong hero , which will have his own script, based on the characters created by Lloyd Kaufman and Joe Ritter. Elijah Wood was the protagonist of the only film that Macon Blair has as a director, which led to speculation about the possibility that he played the villain of the story, but that role has finally fallen into the hands of Kevin Bacon. The Footloose actor has extensive experience in playing villains and without going any further he has already participated in a super heroic production, such as the formidable X-men: First generation .
The original story is set in the fictional city of Tromaville , a fictional New Jersey town that is mired in corruption from alarming levels of crime to the mayor himself. In addition to its low public safety, Tromaville has the honor of being the city that manages the most toxic waste. In the midst of this environment, a shy young gym employee is harassed by the clients of the center , and after a flight due to one of his jokes, the protagonist falls into a barrel of toxic acid , granting him powers that he will use to clean the city from all its filth.
The remake of The Toxic Avenger will feature Peter Dinklage as the protagonist and for now with Taylour Paige and Jacob Tremblay in the cast. Filming is expected to begin in early July.
