Police officers in North Rhine-Westphalia have been searching almost 50 buildings since that morning. It is a campaign against organized crime, first and foremost the drug and arms trafficking.

Duisburg – In a major operation against organized crime, the police in North Rhine-Westphalia searched a total of 47 objects in several cities.

The raid has been going on since Wednesday morning and is aimed in particular against drug and arms trafficking, said the police in Duisburg. Apartments, factories and warehouses would be searched.

A police spokeswoman did not make any more precise statements about who the searches were directed against or about a possible connection between the various objects. The searches ran in Wuppertal, Duisburg, Herne, Hamm, Dinslaken, Gladbeck, Essen, Langenfeld, Ratingen and Kamp-Lintfort, among others.
