LAST MINUTE: Ian Craig will relieve John Santa María in the direction of Coca-Cola Femsa

Coca Cola Femsa will start 2023 with changes in its board of directors. The Monterrey company reported that as of January 1, Ian Craig will replace John Santa María as president of the company, a succession that was approved by the Board of Directors.

This movement is part of the succession planning processes that the bottler of Coca-Cola products carries out in advance, the company reported in a statement sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange.

John Santa Maria Otazua joined Coca-Cola Femsa in 1995. Since then, he has held various management positions, including Director of Operations for the Mexico Division and Director of Business Development and Strategic Planning. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Finance from Southern Methodist University. Since 2014 he has served as CEO of the company.

“John was instrumental in guiding Coca-Cola Femsa through a profound operational and digital transformation that positioned the company to create long-term, sustainable value and expanded the company’s geographic reach to include more territories,” he said. the company in a statement.

Ian Craig has a 28-year history in Monterrey. He has been General Director of Coca-Cola FEMSA Brazil since 2016, achieving remarkable results in every stage and business aspect.

In the second quarter of this year, the bottler registered an increase in its sales of 16% to reach a value of 57,311 million pesos; a rise of 2.4% to 10,607 in its operating flow (Ebitda) and a consolidated net profit of 4,576 million pesos, which represents an increase of 25%.

Other changes in Femsa

Femsa will also make changes in other of its business arms. Starting in January of next year, Alfonso Garza Garza will retire from his position as General Director of Femsa Strategic Businesses and it will be Constantino Spas Montesinos, current Finance Director of Coca-Cola Femsa, who will assume this position.

“Constantino’s role at Coca-Cola Femsa has been essential for the advancement and strategic direction of the company. His appointment reflects Femsa’s vision and conviction of the great opportunities that are enabled by the cross-fertilization of talent between its business units,” the company said.

Alfonso has a 37-year history in various business units of the company, serving as General Director of our Strategic Business division since 2012.

Constantino joined Coca-Cola Femsa in 2018, where he has held executive positions in Strategic Planning, New Business Development and more recently as Director of Administration and Finance.
