The Federal Consumer Attorney's Office (Profeco) initiated a Class Action lawsuit against Megacable , due to the increase in consumer claims for recurrent failures in the telecommunications services offered by said company.

According to Profeco, among the reasons for the complaints, is the constant loss of signal for long periods, as well as the improper charge despite the lack of service.

The legal action requires Megacable, for the benefit of more than four million subscribers, to comply with the provision of its telecommunications services as established in the contracts.

According to data from the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT), Megacable is the second company with the most complaints reported as of June this year, where failures in the internet service are the main complaints of users, followed by contracts and charges. , balances and bonuses.

As of the second quarter of this year, Megacable reported 264,000 net additions in its internet segment, 7% more compared to 2021, while the telephony and video segment registered 328,000 and 86,000 net additions, 12% and 2%, respectively.

"For Profeco it does not go unnoticed that Megacable is the telecommunications and restricted television operator that has received the most complaints per million subscribers in the most recent reports," the Attorney General's Office said in a statement.
