Lava reaches the sea: this is how it looks in 3D from space

This 3D visualization generated from data published by the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS), shows a delineation of the lava flow (as of September 29 at 11:36 UTC) from the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.

So far, the lava flow has covered a total of 338 hectares and destroyed 855 homes. As the image shows, the lava has reached the sea and within a few hours has created a delta of solidified lava along the coast . CEMS is monitoring the aftermath of the eruption with radar and optical satellite images.
