Lewis Hamilton has stormed the Qatar Grand Prix wearing a helmet with the rainbow colors of the LGTBIQ + flag to protest against homophobia. The seven-time world champion has once again shown his protest character and his defense of human rights at the beginning of the Arab triptych that will close the championship in Qatar , Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.
The day before, at the press conference prior to the third-to-last event of the Formula 1 World Championship, Lewis Hamilton had already shown his disappointment for the first visit of the championship to a country where human rights are not respected.
“As they come to these places, sports have a mission to raise awareness of these issues. These countries need scrutiny and it is urgent that the media talk about this kind of thing. Equal rights is a serious problem ”, he launched at the Losail International Circuit .
