Lincoln celebrates 100 years and takes the step towards total electrification

This 2022 marks a century since the acquisition of Lincoln by Ford Motor Company, a company then led by renowned businessman Henry Ford. This fact meant the rise of the brand as a benchmark of American automotive luxury.

Throughout its history, Lincoln has captivated presidents and diplomats, as well as movie and music stars, thanks to its purposeful designs. Its most emblematic models such as Lincoln Continental, Lincoln Zephyr, Lincoln Diamond Jubilee, Lincoln Town Car and Lincoln Navigator paraded in countless scenes of movies and television series.

They are 100 years of constant evolution, offering a unique driving experience of maximum comfort, capable of generating an exciting sensation of exclusivity; 100 years evoking style, elegance and innovation, always with an eye on the future.

Lincoln’s vision is for the future, and now it’s determined to be at the forefront of electric car design and styling. For this reason, the luxury brand has committed to continue innovating with its characteristic Quiet Flight DNA, so that by the year 2030 its entire portfolio will be made up only of globally connected and electrified vehicles.

This plan has been launched immediately and to celebrate its centenary, its first fully electric model will be presented this year. The next step will be to ensure that by 2025 half of its offer is made up of environmentally friendly cars, this includes its Aviator and Corsair Grand Touring vehicles, with plug-in hybrid technology (PHEV) and the first electric ones.

Beyond electrification, Lincoln embodies the driving of the future hand in hand with connectivity. The brand will take advantage of each technological innovation developed to provide a fully digital environment in which the driver can customize to generate a unique atmosphere.

In fact, at the last Shanghai Auto Show, a preview of what will be the Lincoln Intelligent System was seen, which will be present in its new electric range. This platform is cloud-based and will offer updates to keep every electrical system, software, and even power distribution up to date.

The core principles that transformed Lincoln into an American luxury brand today are present in Lincoln Navigator, Aviator, Nautilus and Corsair, as well as in the connected, personalized and effortless services and experiences it offers toward a future where luxury transforms.
