That Hearthstone remembers Magic: The Gathering is no accident. And let Magic: Legends do the same with the acclaimed Diablo saga either. Of course, the action RPG set in the iconic Magic planes of existence has two extra claims: it will bet on free-to-play and is already played on PC through its open beta.

Starting today, Magic: Legends opens its doors on PC to everyone, both from the Epic Games Store and from its own website. Offering, in addition, free Starter Packs that will be available until next April 6.

Of course, these added incentives are not the only appetizer with which Magic: Legends wants to capture the attention of fans of action RPGs: taking advantage of the start of the open beta period, Perfect World and Cryptic have unleashed a spectacular advance in form cinematic trailer .

Once the presentations are made, it’s time to talk about the essentials: announced at the end of 2019, the final launch of Magic: Legends is scheduled for the end of this year both on PC (on Steam, Epic Games Store and Arc Games) and on Xbox and PS4 , offering a combined fantasy, role-playing, action and magic experience with the Magic: The Gathering Multiverse as the central axis of the proposal.

Ahead, five different classes and the challenge of crossing – if possible, in one piece – different planes and regions of the Multiverse in a desperate mission to save reality itself from a greater threat. Of course, along the way we can collect and use a generous repertoire of spells that will definitely give a touch of color to the games.

And, for example, here is an official gameplay session offered on the occasion of the arrival of the open beta.

On the other hand, if the references and inspirations of Magic: Legends are more than clear in the playable, its monetization model is very in tune with that of Fortnite, betting on Free-to-play , integrating seasons and opening the option of buy cosmetic content or letter packs.

In fact, the third and last of the news released today around Magic: Legends is the presentation of the Battlepass of its first season, which you can see in the following video:

Magic: The Gathering continues to enjoy exceptional popularity, but will it be able to eat Diablo’s toast when its fourth installment already looms? Definitely, it has everything to gain, and from today, with its beta on PC, we will have it a little clearer.
